Defectuous functionality of wireless connection atheros ar9287
I have wireless connectivity problems with an Atheros ar9287. There are numerous forums on the web trying to solve this issue, that appears to be affecting many people. I've tried everything I found with no success so far. I'm experienced this problem since I first installed ubuntu in this laptop, ubuntu 12.04 LTS, later 12.10 and now 13.04. For more details:
$ lspci | grep Wireless 02:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
$ uname -a Linux javier 3.8.0-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 16 15:17:14 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I think it might be interesting the different behaviours I have detected:
If no security is set for the network the connection works perfectly.
With WEP security, I can connect the network fine, but connectivity is unstable: sometimes it will disconnect with no apparent reason; on the other hand, the navigation speed is very reduced, sometimes making it impossible to use.
With WPA and WPA2 the navigation speed problems are solved, I can use internet just as fine as if I use windows. But a big problem appears for connecting the network. Sometimes it won't be able to connect the network at all and some other times it will connect with no problem. I've detected that, in those moments when it's impossible to connect, restarting the wifi router will allow ubuntu to instantly connect the network with no problem. I mean restarting not my wireless card in my laptop, but the wifi router (I actually have a router and a wifi connected to it creating the wireless signal). Bridge works only when restarting the router In these cases, I will use internet fine until the end of the day. But I switch off the laptop for sleep and next morning... voilĂ , again no connection, again the need to restart the wifi router. It's a problem, since I live with more people using all the day internet.
The problem affecting me now is the last one described. Good speed of connectivity but problems for accessing the network, except if I restart the router.
Thanks for the help!

Sorry for the off-topic, but I think it is important.
